Locking Addresses
about 9 years ago – Sun, Sep 13, 2015 at 08:17:56 PM

I pushed back the lockdown date for addresses a little bit, to Monday the 14th. I realized I had an option to send all backers an email notification about the lockdown, and while I hate to spam you guys unnecessarily, I really just want to make sure I've done everything I can to notify people that they need to make sure their addresses are correct. Every fix now avoids a problem next month if we send a book to the wrong place. Shipping these books is expensive, and if we have to reship it due to being provided an incorrect address, you will be responsible for covering that additional shipping cost.

I also wanted to mention that the first 100 people who pledged for a book during the Kickstarter campaign should begin receiving a signed bookplate numbered corresponding to the order in which they pledged. I did this manually as a special thank you to the first batch of people who jumped online and contributed towards making this project such a big success. I'd appreciate it if a few of those people could sound off in the comments when they receive their bookplates, just so I know they are arriving safely.

Happy Labor Day Weekend!

Reminder: September 9th is the last day to update your shipping address.

To check/update your shipping address:

  • Look at the email address associated with your Kickstarter account.
  • Go to http://ctrlaltdel.backerkit.com
  • Enter the Kickstarter email address
  • Check/change your shipping address

There are now 44 of you left that have not filled out your Backerkit info and given me an address to ship your stuff to. You can use the above method to check if you are one of these people.

Now, most of you will be receiving an email this afternoon informing you that Season 2 of the Ctrl+Alt+Del Animated Series is now up for download via your Backerkit profile! As was much requested after last time, I zipped each episode, so that you can simply extract the .mp4 file without the filename being all nonsensical/having to rename each file.

This leaves the digital copies of the Ctrl+Alt+Del 1.0 Book Set as the final digital reward yet to be delivered, and I will put those up for download as soon as I have confirmation that the books have started shipping to backers.

In regards to that, I hope to have some updated arrival/shipping information for you in the next couple of weeks.

Bon Voyage!

Here's a picture of one shipment of books, all packed up on pallets.

All loaded into a shipping container, waiting to get on a boat next week!

So according to the current plan (which I want to stress, is still subject to change and minor delay) these shipments are expected to leave port the first week of September. They should arrive at their destinations the first week(ish) of October, and begin shipping shortly after that. I'll have more specific dates as we get closer.

That means, for anyone who may be moving around that time, that you want to provide us with a valid delivery address for you for mid-October. If your mid-October location is uncertain, I suggest you provide us with the stable address of a friend or family member (or private rented mailbox) where your shipment can be delivered for you to pick up later.

Again, if you need to edit your address, you have until end of day on Wednesday, September 9th. You can log into your backerkit survey via this link: http://ctrlaltdel.backerkit.com

The Second Best Project Update We'll Ever Post
over 9 years ago – Thu, Aug 27, 2015 at 12:01:59 AM

So... as I mentioned in the video, on September 9th, I will be locking down shipping addresses. At this point, you will no longer be able to edit your shipping address as we prepare to get these books to you.

If you have lost the original survey email from Backerkit, you can recover your survey at this link: http://ctrlaltdel.backerkit.com Simply enter the email address associated with your Kickstarter account, and log in to update your address.

I also want to mention again, there are 49 Backers that still have not responded to their Backerkit survey to provide us with a shipping address. Those people can access their survey in the same way listed above.

If, by the time we have finished fulfillment on this Kickstarter project, there is anyone that still has not provided us with their shipping address, those pledges will be cancelled and their books will be made available for sale to the general public.

Milestone achieved

Five thousand bookplates, signed and numbered!

Of course, if I think about the 4000 prints and 2000 DVDs I still need to sign, it takes a little wind out of my sails... but hey, it's one more thing crossed off my list, so yay!
